In a press release, Altec Industries Inc, in cooperation with and in accordance with the standards and guidelines of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), announced that it is recalling specific models of utility vehicles made from 2008 to 2011. These vehicles were equipped with Sure power battery separator devices. They can be identified by the part numbers 16511893 and 16512967. This recall has been initiated because of the possibility that the battery could overheat, potentially causing smoke and fire. The company is in the process of alerting owners to this recall and will replace the defective part free of charge. For further information, owners can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline.
