Nearly 10,000 wrist rattles and 11,00 pairs of baby booties were recalled by Midwest-CBK Inc due to their safety. The pom-pom’s attached to the rattles could detach, posing a serious choking hazard to young infants. So far one reported incident of the pom-pom detaching has been received, but no injuries have surfaced. The products that are part of the recall are the Monkeez & Friends wrist rattles and booties made from knitted yarn. They have a monkey head with pom-pom attachments and come in a variety of colors.
According to news reports, they were sold to gift stores, drug stores, decor outlets and variety stores around the country from June 2009-March 2011 for around $5 each. The booties sold separately for around $13 each. They were made in China. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging that they be taken away from children and returned for a full refund. As a Harrisburg car accident lawyer, I’m glad that nobody has been hurt by this product and I hope parents and caretakers keep them far away from children. If you or a loved one were harmed by a product, discuss your case with a personal injury lawyer Harrisburg who can help evaluate your case.
