In a news release, Threeline Imports, Inc, in cooperation with and in compliance with the rules and regulations of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), announced the voluntary food safety recall of Kypoyka Biscuits due to the undeclared presence of the known allergen egg.
This recall affects all Kypoyka Biscuits packaged in 21.16-ounce cardboard boxes that feature the container code 072611 042612. The recall was set into motion when the company discovered that a routine sampling taken by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and further analyzed by the Department Food Laboratory uncovered the presence of eggs in the Kypoyka Biscuits, which did not have egg listed as an ingredient on the packaging labels. Individuals with allergies to egg and egg products could suffer severe or life threatening allergic reactions if they were to consume these products. To date, the company has received no reports of illness in connection with this recall.
Consumers that may have purchased this product and have an allergy to egg or egg products are urged to return them to the place of purchase to receive a full refund.
As a Harrisburg personal injury lawyer, I’ve seen this sort of safety recall before and understand the devastating illnesses that can befall consumers as a result of consuming a mislabeled food product.
