Court Rules Wal-Mart Forced Employees to Work Without Compensation

$188 Million. That is the total amount Wal-mart is being ordered to pay to some 187,000 current and former employees. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court found the mega retailer to be guilty of forcing their employees to take shortened breaks without compensation for time worked. The Supreme Court decision affects anyone employed in Pennsylvania by Wal-Mart anytime between 1998 and 2006.

How the Suit Affects Wal-Mart Profits

Quarterly earnings will be reduced by approximately 4 percent, which is telling about the profits usually taken in by Wal-Mart.
