Pennsylvania Congressman Pushing FDA to Ban Essure Contraceptive Device

The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has received over 5,000 formal complaints about the Essure Contraceptive Device. The complaints have come from women who were injured by the Essure device, and several deaths have also been reported. The FDA Reports that four adults and five fetus’ have died as a result of the Essure device. All of the fetus deaths involved pregnancies that the Essure device was intended to prevent from occurring.

Pennsylvania Congressman Introducing the E-Free Act

PA congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R) is introducing a bill to ban the Essure device from the market. He cites over 22,000 women who have come forward on Facebook alone to report harmful complications and side effects resulting from the Essure Sterilization device.

  • Migration of the coil through the fallopian tubes
  • Fallopian tube perforation
  • Uterus perforation
  • Vaginal Bleeding
  • Cramping
  • Nausea
  • Fainting
  • Vomiting
  • Unusual or Ectopic pregnancies
  • Back pain
  • Pelvic pain
