A Pennsylvania car accident involving a sports utility vehicle (SUV) has left an area man clinging to life at the Hershey Medical Center. The accident occurred at around 7:52 a.m. on Monday morning, according to Dauphin County First Assistant District Attorney Fran Chardo.

35-year-old Thomas Toombs, from Harrisburg, was pulled over early on Monday morning by police; however, he sped off from the traffic stop, drove onto Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company property and slammed into an embankment near Park Boulevard. Toombs’ vehicle was crushed in the crash, he sustained serious injuries, and was taken to the nearby hospital.

Thankfully, no one else was in the vehicle with Toombs, and no one else was injured by the accident. Police closed Park Boulevard near the scene of the accident while an investigation was conducted, but no charges against Toombs have yet been instituted. Stay tuned.
