An 18-year old man who was killed in a traffic accident in Calgary may have been distracted while driving, say Calgary police. The man, who has not yet been identified, was not drinking or speeding when he drove his 2012 Ford Focus into the lane of an oncoming tractor trailer truck. If distracted driving was the cause, this will be the first such death since the city passed an ordinance last fall allowing police to fine drivers $172 for talking on a phone or using a handheld device.
