New York’s leading using is working to raise awareness to help protect road workers safety. The “Don’t Zone Out” campaign is meant to raise awareness of a law extension, that now requires motorist to move over for vehicles with amber lights. The inclusion of the highway worker vehicles to the law that already requires motorist to change lanes for police and fire vehicles, could mean hefty fines and a loss of driving points for distracted motorists. The law requires drivers to change lanes for vehicles with amber, red or blue lights flashing.
