In a press release, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has released an immediate recall notice of about 250,000 units of Expandable Insulated Lunch Boxes with Freezer Gel Packs, a 3-piece Ci Sport set, imported by California Innovations Inc. of Canada and distributed through Costco, Leon Korol and Cost U Less chains of retailers. This recall was initiated due to the possibility of leakage of poisonous glycols of ethylene and diethylene from the gel packs, presenting serious health hazards to consumers. The recalled products were sold between May 2007 and September 2008. Consumers have been requested to return them to Costco or California Innovations for a full refund.
As a Carlisle personal injury lawyer, I understand the potential health hazards present with chemicals spills in portable food containers and have seen this sort of safety recall many times in the past. If you have fallen ill after the normal use of a defective or potentially dangerous product, it may be in your best interests to call an experienced personal injury lawyer in your town to learn more about your legal rights as they pertain to the matter.Tweet
