A man waived his right to a preliminary hearing after being charged with hitting a pedestrian in Chambersburg without a proper license. The 33-year-old is scheduled for an arraignment in the Court of Common Pleas. He remains in Franklin County Jail after being charged with causing the pedestrian accident, along with unsafe backing and driving with a suspended license. The crash happened when he was driving a GMC Sierra pickup truck in reverse and hit the pedestrian. Nearby witnesses allege he was backing at a high rate of speed. The pedestrian was brought to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. According to news reports, he had a suspended Pennsylvania licesnse and an expired Tennessee license.
