19 Miles of Pennsylvania Turnpike Closed Until Sunday

Crews are going to be removing the Nissley Road bridge that crosses the turnpike in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County. In order to remove the bridge, they are closing a stretch of the turnpike between exits 247 and 266. Exit 247 is at the Harrisburg East Interchange, where I-283 and I-76 meet, in Highspire. Exit 266 is the exit for State Route 72, also known as the Lebanon-Lancaster Interchange.

Recommended Detour for Westbound Drivers

Drivers traveling Westbound on the Pennsylvania turnpike are asked to exit at the Lebanon-Lancaster Interchange to State Route 72 North. From there, take U.S. Route 322 West to interstate 283 South, which will take you to the Harrisburg East interchange.

Recommended Detour for Eastbound Drivers

Drivers traveling Eastbound are being asked to use the interstate 283 North exit from the Harrisburg East Interchange to U.S. Route 322 East. Continue on U.S. Route 322 until StateRoute 72 South to the Lebanon-Lancaster Interchange.
