Attorney Watson Earns Workers’ Compensation Law Specialty Certification

Handler, Henning & Rosenberg is proud to announce that our very own Attorney J. Jeffrey Watson has been certified as a specialist in the practice of workers' compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers' Compensation Law Section as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. According to the PBA website, only 210 lawyers in the entire state can call themselves certified specialists in workers' compensation law—representing less than half a percent of the practicing lawyers in the entire state of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Watson completed the 2018 certification by demonstrating that:

  • His legal practice is more than 50% comprised of workers' compensation cases;
  • He has practiced in the field for more than 5 years (Mr. Watson has practiced for 15); and
  • He actively participates in Mandatory Continuing Legal Education.

Additionally, he was required to pass an arduous certification exam focusing on workers’ compensation law.

Proudly Serving Injured Workers Across Pennsylvania

Workers' compensation is built on a simple idea: any person who is injured while doing their job should be given the money they need to heal and get back to work. The sooner that workers can recover, the better off the whole country will be. However, the system itself often allows employers to take advantage of workers and keep them from getting the resources they need— that is why injured employees need advocates.

At HHR, our legal team has been protecting injured workers and their families since 1922—shortly after the nation started passing laws protecting a worker's right to injury compensation. Mr. Watson joins a proud tradition that built our firm's reputation as a stalwart advocate for Pennsylvania and its residents. We are proud of him, and we look forward to the specialized guidance and support he will provide to our clients.
