Did Distracted Driving Cause Car Accidents in Cumberland County and Lancaster County?
Cumberland County Multiple Car Accident Injures One
A 30 year old driver from New Cumberland is being charged by police after he caused a car accident in Cumberland County on May 18 while reaching for his cell phone. Apparently, the man had dropped his phone on the passenger side floorboard, and bent down to pick it up. When he took his eyes off the road, his car crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic.
His car struck an oncoming vehicle driven by a Wellsville resident, disabling her car. The accident happened near East Winding Hill Road and Gettysburg Pike, per the Allen Township police. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries, it is not known at this time how seriously she was injured in the car accident, but we do send our thoughts for a full and speedy recovery.
