Car Accident Shuts Down Eastbound Lanes

A car accident has forced the Eastbound lanes to be shut down until the roadway is cleared. Three people suffered injuries in the crash and all were taken to a local hospital for medical attention. The accident happened on Eastbound 283, near the Airport Connector in Lower Swatara Township, Dauphin County.

First reports indicate that one of the vehicles was attempting to use an emergency turnaround when two other vehicles crashed into a van. One of the vehicles rolled over during the car accident. A dog was reported to have run away from the accident. Responders are asking people to be on the lookout for a German Short Hair Pointer with a purple collar.

Traffic is still backed up at this time, police are hoping to open at least one lane soon to relieve the traffic pressure.
